Download the English language pack and change the session type on the GDM logon screen should be in a pull down menu.
If you are auto loging in you can log out and choose from the pull down menu and log back in in eng
although i highly recomend not auto login
you should be able to get english support in your package manager most use synaptic, apt yum or something similar check the forums and download the lang pack than log in as that lang.
