How can I change the default booting Operating System?

I have both Windows XP and Ubuntu intsalled in different partitions on my computer. Hence, at each reboot I see a prompt telling me to select which OS should be booted. However the default (first) option is Ubuntu and the computer uses this OS if I don't select Windows in 10 seconds. Is there a way to make Windows XP the default operating system (moving it up the list or something) so that I don't have to wait for the prompt every time?How can I change the default booting Operating System?
In Ubuntu, open up the 'Terminal' (Applications%26gt;Accessories%26gt;Terminal)

Type this

sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst

Enter your password

It will then open the menu.lst

Find the line that says %26quot;default 0%26quot;

Is this how your grub menu look like when it boots up?

If so change the number from '0' to '6' . Save, exit and restart

Also if you want to change the time grub will wait before automatically boot the default OS.

Look for 'timeout 10%26quot;

That's 10 seconds in your case

you can change the number to a shorter time after you have change Windows XP as your default OS.

Remember to save it every time you edit it otherwise it would not work.
