How to restore Factory defaults on Acer Aspire 4315 Laptop?

Im having problems trying to restore my factory settings because a while ago I installed XP on the D partition. I've found out recently this was used for PQService when restoring the settings but at the time i didn't know. I used to use VistaBootPro to allow me to change operating systems between them which worked perfectly. When i try press the Alt + f10 combination at startup it doesn't do anything and when I try eRecovery on Vista it just reboots itself and nothing changes. I've used a program called EASEUS Partition which allowed me to see that hidden partition and set it as active to see if that would work but it didn't provide any use :(. Is there a way in which I can get my factory settings back? Would formatting the D partition with XP on allow the Alt + f10 cominbation to work? Thanks for the help :)How to restore Factory defaults on Acer Aspire 4315 Laptop?
It sounds to me as if you`ve formatted D drive when installing XP, if this is the case I`m afraid you`ve lost your restore option.

It happened to me once when I deleted factory files by mistake.

I was unable to use factory settings ever again, but I was able to use my XP installation disc with my windows serial.

If you haven`t got a disc I suggest you borrow one and use your own serial or download a copy from a torrent site. (Legal as long as you download the original os and use your serial number)How to restore Factory defaults on Acer Aspire 4315 Laptop?
Hi.

I have in the past answered many questions relating to recovery of Acers using erecovery and for the most part been able to help although have not come across this particular problem.

.

When a recovery is made with erecovery the space in %26quot;D%26quot; is used as a temporary location during the repair/recovery to the OS in %26quot;C%26quot; . I have made a erecovery with just 25GB space in %26quot;D%26quot; , so as long as you keep space available there is no need to format.

I also use EASEUS partition %26quot;master%26quot; to manage my partitions with out the hassle from booting with Cd's etc. %26quot;All%26quot; partitions must be in place for erecovery from PQservice .

For partition recovery D to D , Hard disc to Hard disc recovery needs to be enabled for erecovery to work

( F2 at start up for this option ,navigat with arrow keys to MAIN).

Hope all go's well ,edit if you have continuing problems.

PS Just in-case you did not know when you run erecovery management the on screen window only lists user backups and for other options ,factory restore ect click the restore tab from bottom of this window.

The Acer frame work or other applications can be repaired by clicking the applications and drivers restore.

Or

If you have Acers plug-in in windows mobility ( Hold start and press X ) a restore of any application or driver that came on your computer when new ( including Acer frame work, ).
