How can I use my IPOD nano with Windows ME?

I just got an IPOD nano and would like to use it with my computer with Windows ME. When I try downloading ITunes it says that I need to change my operating system. Is there any way around this? How can I use my IPOD nano with Windows ME?
No, in order to download itunes you need windows 2000 or windows xp service pack 2 or later.. or of course vista. It will not work with ME and there is no way to use an ipod unless you have itunes. THe ipod is nothing more than a pretty brick without itunes.

My dad also has windows ME and he always has to give me his ipod if he wants new stuff loaded onto it b/c he cannot get itunes on his computer.

So unless you know someone who would be willing to do that for you.. or unless you want to buy a new computer or buy a new operating system there isn't much you can do besides return the ipod and get your money back. I'm sure you could find some other non apple mp3 player that would work with your computer though.

I just found this site that tells you how to get around itunes but it looks kinda complicated and it said somwhere that if the ipod is brand new you have to find a computer with windows xp or later to hook it up to at first...

I tunes and ipods should work with anything after windows 98. You need to download the ipod software though if you dont have windows xp or vista.

Go to apple and search for ipod software (not itunes)

Get the necc software and download it.

Then it should be fine.
