How would i go about changing my 32 bit operating system to a 64 bit.?

Right now i have a 32 bit operating system running vista home premium. It also has 3 gigs of ram and i am wanting maybe a gig or 2 more, but i would have to get a 64 bit to do that. What do i do to get a 64 bit? How would i go about changing my 32 bit operating system to a 64 bit.?
well, 32 bit OS can handle up to 4 GB RAM. If you want to upgrade to a 64-bit OS, then you would need to buy the new 64-bit version of the OS, as well as a new processor and potentially new mobo to support the new 64-bit processor. How would i go about changing my 32 bit operating system to a 64 bit.?
