Do you feel any need of changing the Operating System you r using in u'r PC? Do you like to do that? Esp. XP?

Now I think plenty of ppl dont like to change their O/S in to another O/S after they get used to it. I have been using XP for 4 yrs now and i am still enjoying it. I dont feel any need of changing it to Vista or Wdows 7. Basically bcz if I do, then I'll have to get used to those systems which will take some time. Now I know almost everything about XP. But if i go to Vista then I have to learn every thing once again.

I tried Vista for a short period and i didn't like it. It kind of sucked. I dunno how Windows 7 is. BTW I will use XP for another long time. It is easy to use and I know everything about it. Now as me, I heard that some other ppl also dont like to change their O/S. They only do it if they have some terrible issues with their O/S. For an example Vista ppl go to W7 bcz Vista is a failier. But for XP ppl I dont think there is any reason to change their O/S bcz XP rocks!

So what about u? Do u agree?Do you feel any need of changing the Operating System you r using in u%26039;r PC? Do you like to do that? Esp. XP?
My XP is safe, secure and, stable. Every piece of equipment and hardware and software I have is XP. I have absolutely no intentions of moving to a different Windows. I also do not like Vista and Windows 7 is simply a total rewrite of Vista and a replacement for Vista. I dumped Vista off of four different computers in my house. I also dual boot Windows and Linux. I view it this way, I have the best of both systems.Do you feel any need of changing the Operating System you r using in u%26039;r PC? Do you like to do that? Esp. XP?
My laptop has XP and I still love it, sure its old and could use some memory to make it faster but I don't plan on changing until the prices of Windows 7 drops some. My mother bought a new laptop with Vista and she can't use it. The internet never works, especially yahoo ironically. And the funny thing is she is a computer whiz its her job to take care of computers and their networks and she can't get Vista to work at all. The good news for her is she gets discounts for new O/S because of her job so she will be fine.Do you feel any need of changing the Operating System you r using in u%26039;r PC? well, this may not count, but my computer was unsuably slow (it took like 15 min to load internet explorer, and it always stopped responding), so my friend formatted it and installed Linux Fedora 7. its super fast now, even with only 500 meg of ram, and its got professional image- and program-creating program installed on it automattically! and its super secure!

only prob is that when my friend formatted it, the software for the wireless device vanished, so now it completely without internet. really sux.

and about the upgrading: its really hard to upgrade a computer and still have it run just as fast. but since all windows systems build on the last one, then really theres not much new stuff to learn. and windows 7 got really good reviews.Do you feel any need of changing the Operating System you r using in u%26039;r PC? I bought a Vista laptop, but only because it was a bit cheaper and qualified for the free Windows 7 upgrade. Heard too many things about Vista to want to be stuck with it. And 7 is going to be the future of Microsoft for the next few years so I kinda want to be in the front for once and check it out.

But my older machine came with XP. There is no reason to upgrade the OS here because it fits the hardware nicely and does pretty much everything I want. I don't know what it is about XP that seems to earn trust. Win98's taskbar seemed too %26quot;weak%26quot; and bland, while Vista and 7's look %26quot;woo check me out, I'm transparent%26quot; flashy. XP seems to be the right fit.

Someone (I'm sure lots of someones) suggested that Microsoft do away with these major releases of operating systems, and simply build upon a foundation that works. Keep XP going with new service packs and add new features as time passes. But that's no way to make money...Do you feel any need of changing the Operating System you r using in u%26039;r PC? 64 bit edition? I personally have a phenom II X4, in order to make good use of resources though, you def need something that will support 64 bit architecture or else you are limited on the full capability of your hardware.

I too am a long time XPer but have been working with linux lately just because I'm not a fan of Vista but still want full use of my hardware. I've heard Windows 7 is better but I'm still not convinced I really want to go back to a microsoft product as my primary o/s, seeing as I can dual boot with xp and linux and just go to my familiar xp if i need it and then run my linux o/s for everything and emulate most stuff I can't find a linux version for.

Do I like changing OS? not particularly (linux is a hell of a learning curve, albeit there are easier distros,) but once you've got it over with the performance speaks for itself.
