Step 1. %26quot;Buy%26quot; a copy of Windows XP PRO

Step 2. Put the installation CD into the disk drive

Step 3. Reboot the computer and when it starts back up hit either %26quot;F2%26quot; or the %26quot;del%26quot; key and go into the systems BIOS. Check to see if the ATAPI CD-ROM is the first preference under boot (it could be under something else depending on your motherboard but check for something that says boot) if it is not set to be the first preference than change it (there will be instructions on the screen) then make sure HDD or HDD-0 is the second preference (that's your hard drive.)

Step 4. restart the computer and when you see the message %26quot;Press any key to boot from CD%26quot; press any key you want.

Step 5. You will see a bunch of blue screens ignore them until you see %26quot;Welcome to Setup%26quot; screen.

Step 6. Press enter to install Windows

Step 7. Press F8 to agree to the license agreement (no one reads this so just press F8)

Step 8. You will have to choose a partition or hard drive to install windows. Choose the option that says Windows Vista in you case and press %26quot;D%26quot; to delete the partition then press enter to install windows

Step 9. You will be asked to choose a file system for your new partition choose NTFS (not NTFS quick) then press enter

Step 10. Format the drive by pressing %26quot;F%26quot;

Step 11. Wait until that little yellow bar is done then the installation files from the CD will be written to your hard drive (another yellow bar)

Step 12. ignore the message press any key to restart (don't press anything)

Step 13. Your computer will reboot this time do not press any key when the message comes up %26quot;Press any key to boot from CD%26quot;

Step 14. Now you will see the windows screen and will be greeted with a windows setup screen

Step 15. You will wait a little while then press next (don't bother with all of the configurations) then enter your name and click next.

Step 16. wait some more than you will be prompted to enter your CD key (IMPORTANT DO NOT INSTALL UNLESS YOU HAVE A KEY) enter your CD key

Step 17. Create a name for your computer and a password and click next.

Step 18. Set your time zone and click next.

Step 19. wait some more and and choose typical settings and click next.

Step 20. Click next when it asks you if you are using a domain or workgroup. Your using a workgroup.

Step 21. Once installation has been completed your computer will reboot and windows is installed.

Step 22. There will be a bunch of welcome to windows screens just follow the instructions.
