How can I modify my boot.ini file to change the boot order of Operating Systems?

I tried installing this %26quot;Longhorn Reloaded%26quot;, it was actually a build of XP proffesional that had been juiced up. It was really bad and nothing worked. Worse it put itself as the primary Operating System. When I try to change it, it doesn't even list Vista in the system. So I have to do it manually.

I have Windows Vista Home Premium, what should the text in the boot.ini file in Drive C look like?

Thank you ;-)How can I modify my boot.ini file to change the boot order of Operating Systems?
Start %26gt; in the search type %26quot;msconfig%26quot; %26gt; view the %26quot;boot%26quot; tab

good luck mateHow can I modify my boot.ini file to change the boot order of Operating Systems?
Install EasyBCD to make any changes to the Boot record, its a freeware and pretty easy to use, I feel uncomfortable touching the boot.ini myself but with EasyBCD my PC is running as triple boot (XP, Vista and Ubuntu) which I configured all by myself.

Get your app here...

That is a boot.ini or boot config file.

C:/startup/WindowsVista/*some secret code here to make sure you are LEGIT* /run

That is nowhere near close, just look up boot ini for vista,(whatever of the 5 that you run)

That one seems to explain it well.

Boot.ini has been replaced in Vista with BCDEDIT Boot Configuration Data Editor (a command prompt application.)

This app may also be easier for you to use from a gui.

There are further articles on the use of BCDEDIT on the Technet and MSDN sites, and you can type BCDEDIT /? at the cmd prompt and view the long list of switches.

Take note, make a backup before changing ANYTHING in the BCCONFIG,Sysedit,Sysconfig or whatever root/suda/admin files you are accessing and altering.
