Its probably as simple as inserting your XP install disc into the drive and then re-booting (choose %26quot;Boot from CD%26quot;). Then following on screen instructions.

I might be wrong but as far as I know you can't put XP over Vista. No problem the other way round that's an update / upgrade but the other way round is a downgrade and if your PC came with Vista as it's default operating system XP won't go in over it. I hope I am wrong for your sake because Vista is nothing but trouble from what I read on here.

I believe that there can be a particular problem if the hard drive is connected by SATA (Serial ATA) and not the older parallel connection. Here, it seems that you might not be able to load drivers for SATA to work, unless you have a floppy disk drive.
